Here at St Paul’s our mission goes far beyond academics — we are a community that supports, uplifts, and stands together in times of need. When we received the heartbreaking news that not one but two of our pupils had been diagnosed with cancer, we knew we had to act. Salahman, aged 5, was diagnosed with Leukaemia and is currently undergoing a rigorous and aggressive program of chemotherapy. Arooj, who is now in Year 8, suffered from a brain tumour, which was wrapped around one of her optic nerves. This was successfully operated on in 2022 but unfortunately, we received the devastating news that she has recently suffered a relapse when the doctors found another, larger tumour at her follow up appointment this year. We wanted to show our support not just in words, but in action.
That’s why we’ve decided to take part in this year’s Race for Life, joining thousands across the country in raising vital funds for Cancer Research UK.
Why We Run
Cancer touches the lives of so many — friends, families, classmates, and teachers. For us, this race is personal. It’s about showing our pupils that they are never alone in their fight. It’s about hope, resilience, and the power of community.
Every step we take is a step toward better treatments, earlier diagnoses, and one day — a cure.
