From time to time, parents and members of the public may express concern or make a complaint about some aspect of the conduct/operation of the school, the conduct of the Headteacher, an individual member of staff, the Governing Body or an individual governor.
Concerns can be raised orally and discussed face to face or by telephone, but formal complaints should always be in writing, using the proforma at the end of our complaints policy and also attached below. Please note that we no longer normally respond to emailed complaints - it is better to use the proforma which is part of the complaints policy so it is clear what the evidence is and what you would like to happen. Additional sheets can be attached to the proforma.
The school will always give serious consideration to concerns and complaints that are brought to its attention. However, anonymous complaints will not usually be considered. In considering concerns or complaints, the school will ensure that they are dealt with effectively and with fairness to all parties. There is an expectation that both parties, both school and the complainant, conduct themselves in a courteous and reasonable manner. Should the school experience abuse, aggression, bullying, or harassment, the concern/ complaint will not be dealt with until the complainant conducts themselves reasonably and courteously.
OUR CONCERNS/ COMPLAINTS FLOW CHART GIVES A SIMPLE BREAKDOWN OF HOW TO RAISE A CONCERN OR COMPLAINT.
In dealing with your complaint:
Please follow the complaint procedure laid out below to make a complaint.
PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR COMPLAINTS POLICY GOES HAND IN HAND WITH OUR DIGNITY AT WORK POLICY.
