How do our pupil premium children, do?

We are required to publish information on our pupil premium children – who are children who have received free school meals in the last 6 years, children in local authority care or children whose parents are in the armed services.

This financial year, we received £130,680 pupil premium grant for 114 children (which accounts for 29% of our pupils). This money is spent on:

  • Higher level teaching assistant providing intervention for children falling behind/ children needing assistance to achieve the higher level
  • Free Breakfast Club and After School Club for some families in difficulty
  • Learning Mentor
  • Books to engage disadvantaged boys
  • IT area of the school library to engage disadvantaged boys
  • Providing free extra curricular tuition for more able pupils through the “Kip McGrath” agency to target higher levels and provide grammar school entrance exam tuition if required.
  • 1:1 mentoring from 2 staff to help children struggling to complete homework at home.
  • Free music lessons.
  • Free yoga sessions.
  • Subsidised school trips, including Y6 residential trip.

The table shows the attainment of our pupil premium by the end of Key Stage 2, compared to the national picture:
