Reception - Busybees

Welcome to Reception - Busybees!

Welcome to the Busy Bee Class. We share our classroom with the Butterflies. We work and play together in our indoor and outdoor environment.

The Busy Bee teacher is Mrs K.Scott. Our teaching assistants are Mrs A. Watson and Miss S.Stobbs.

Please check this page regularly for important updates and information about the lovely things we have been learning about.

I hope you are all well and keeping safe.

These are very strange times for us all.

As we adjust to this new way of learning and interacting with school, I'd like to make you aware of some of the resources available to you.

Please keep up to date with children's learning via SEESAW. Activities will be posted daily including literacy, numeracy, phonics and topic work. Weekly spellings and spelling tests will feature too.

It is on SEESAW that you may contact teachers.

Please let us know if we can help in anyway.

During this period of school closure, you can access this website below from home:

Our Trip to Manchester Airport

We all had a fantastic day out at the Runway Visitors Centre.Lots of learning took place and it was an experience we will never forget. Just to let you know, other members of staff who aren't usually in our class commented on how well behaved the children were. We are proud of them all.

Autumn 2
Over the past few weeks, we have been learning and practising lots of new skills. We have taken Christmas photographs of each other, wrote letters to Father Christmas, wrapped presents in our Post Office, re-told the Nativity story in our stable and learnt new songs for our production. As you can see, we literally have been 'Busy Bees'.

We are continuing to learn about numbers to 10  and all the different ways you can make them. Also we are learning about 2d shapes.

For the second part of the term, we have been reading books about space and aliens.

We have been learning all about autumn and what happens during this season. Leaf Man is a fantastic story by Lois Ehlert that looks at the journey of a leaf that has been turned into a man. The book has wonderful illustrations of his journey. Take a look at our learning connected to this book, as the children have done some amazing work.
